Outrigger Canoe Club entered a team in the Oahu Service Basketball League in 1919. The league was composed of eight teams: Marines, College of Hawaii, Department Hospital, Coast Defense, Signal Corps, First Hawaiian and Outrigger. Although games were scheduled to be played at the National Guard Armory, the games were moved to Moiliili Field because of a flu epidemic and health officials didn’t want large crowds gathering inside buildings.
The League was won by the Marines with a 6-0 record. Outrigger finished in fourth place with a 3-3 league record.
The OCC team included Oswald Auerbach, right forward; Percy Nottage, left forward; Johnson, center; Kenneth Decker, right guard; Harold Harvey, left guard; Mouse Smith, forward; Alex Fritschi, forward; Dad Center.
