First presented on July 4, 1995, this trophy is based on an ancient Polynesian canoe bailer found in the Bishop Museum.
It was commissioned by Kawika Grant and donated to the OCC to complement the Senior Masters Women’s trophy. The woodworking was done by CTRC Robert Stricklan, a Navy Chief at PACFLT HQ.
The trophy is awarded to the winning Senior Masters 70 crew. Previously, the trophy was awarded to the winning Senior Masters Men 40, Senior Masters Men 45, Senior Masters Men 50, Senior Masters Men 52, Senior Masters Men 53, Senior Masters Men 55, Senior Masters Men 60 and Senior Masters Men 65.
