Outrigger Canoe Club Koa Canoes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Outrigger Canoe Club has owned five koa racing canoes during its 100-plus year history: the Hanakeoki, the Kakina, the Leilani, the Kaoloa and the Paoa. The Hanakeoki was sold to the Makaha Canoe Club in 1972 and the Paoa to the Ewa Beach Canoe Club in 1983.

The Kakina, Leilani and Kaoloa have all been recently renovated to state-of-the-art koa racing canoes and comply with all Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association racing requirements .

In addition to the racing canoes, the OCC also has two other koa canoes, the Ka Mo`i which has been restored and hangs in the Club’s Ka Mo`i Boathouse, as well as the Stephanie, which is currently being renovated and will be used for Club functions.
