When Ron Haworth began helping to digitally archive some of the Outrigger Canoe Club’s historical documents, he was reminded of many good and bad times, shenanigans and triumphs by Outrigger members and teams.
To share these “snippets” as he called them, he began writing a series of aricles for the Outrigger magazine in 2015. He titled them Koa Log. They look back at various events and times in the Club’s history.
Haworth is a member of the OCC Historical Committee, was previously on the Publicity Committee, and was a columnist for the Honolulu Star Bulletin, writing a weekly column titled Surf Spray.
