Genie McMahon was voted to Life Membership in the Outrigger Canoe Club at the Annual Meeting of the Club on February 22, 1999. Genie along with husband John McMahon and son Jimmy moved to Hawaii in 1952 and joined the Outrigger in 1953. They were involved with paddling, surfing, sailing and Club social functions.
In January 1979 Genie joined the Historical Committee. She wrote profiles of the Club’s Winged “O”s and chaired the Photo subcommittee for many years. That included identify, classifying, cataloging and storing the Club’s historical photos. She also worked on photo displays in the Bar and throughout the Club.
