This film by Bishop Museum shows scenes from the 2nd Annual Walter J. Macfarlane Regatta on July 4, 1944, as well as surfing and paddleboard races held during the regatta. The canoe racing teams are Outrigger Canoe Club (red and white canoe) and Hui Nalu Canoe Club (black and gold canoe). Duke Kahanamoku can be seen steering some Outrigger crews. The Miss Waikiki beauty pageant contest which occurred at the beach during the Kamehameha Day canoe races on June 11 is also shown. The winner of the Miss Waikiki pageant was Pearl Lani Stone.
