This trophy was won by the Outrigger Canoe Club in the 1999 Liberty Challenge in New York Harbor. Outrigger’s paddlers were Bill Pratt, David Buck, Billy Balding, David Horner, Marc Haine and Ikaika Kincaid.
Team Hawaii made up of Outrigger paddlers Walter Guild, Mark Rigg and Todd Bradley and other elite paddlers from other clubs finished in first.
