This trophy was the Hawaiian Brewing Company Primo Beer Cup and was first awarded on July 4, 1943 and retired in 1947. The perennial winners of this trophy were Tommy Arnott, J. Dowsett, Robert “Buckaloose” Bush, Kenneth “Cueball” Chaney, Alan “Turkey” Love, Jimmy “Speed” Pflueger. Carlos Rivas. Dan Wilkinson, Don Tobin, Jack Beaumont, Don “Slim” Denhart and Toots Minvielle.
The silver cup sits atop a wooden pedestal, which sits on a wooden base.
In 1991, the Primo Cup was returned to competition and awarded to the winning Masters Men 40. Originally, the youngest Masters Men crew was 35. The age was moved up to 40 in 2003 by OHCRA.
