Duke Kahanamoku Paddleboard Race

The Hawaiian region of the U.S. Lifesaving Association celebrated the “Year of the Hawaiian” in 1987 with a new paddleboard race:  the Ho’olako Duke Kahanamoku Memorial Paddleboard Race.  The race was 9 miles from Maunalua Bay to the Natatorium.  The race was renamed the Duke Kahanamoku World Championship Paddleboard Race in 1990 with a new course of Maunalua Bay to the Duke Kahanamoku Statue at Kuhio Beach. The finish line changed back to Sans Souci in 1993.  No results were found after 1994.
