This plaque was presented posthumously to George “Dad” Center, a Pioneer Swimming Coach, in Hawaii and the United States, by the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Dad coached Outrigger and Hawaii swimming teams from the founding of the Club until his death. He produced numerous local, state and national swimming champions, as well as Olympic champions. He was the U.S. Olympic Swimming Coach in 1920.
