Boating & Fishing

TeamCatchFish crop
Outrigger Canoe Club members have always been avid fishermen and women, and have participated locally in tournaments including the International Billfish Tournament.  A number of members love to fish from outrigger canoes or surfboards in the waters in front of the Club.

In 2011, the Outrigger formed a Boating and Fishing Committee which holds annual fishing tournaments each fall. The tournament is usually limited to mahimahi, ono and aku. After the one-day tournament the fish are brought back to the Club and grilled on the beach for all to enjoy.  Prizes are given for the largest fish in each category.
