The Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation is an off-shoot of the Outrigger Canoe Club’s Outrigger Foundation which was founded in 1981 and merged with the Duke Kahanamoku Foundation on February 18, 1986. The Foundation offers a way for supporters of Hawaii’s athletes to make financial contributions to support these endeavors. Donations are tax deductable and go directly towards grants and scholarships for Hawaii athletes participating in Duke’s Sports of swimming, water polo, surfing, paddling, kayaking, crew, and volleyball. Donations also support participation in canoe races, lifeguard competitions, surfing competitions, paddleboard races, and more.
