Twelve golfers from the Outrigger Canoe Club faced off against 12 golfers from the Pacific Club on July 29, 2009 to renew an old tradition of friendly rivalry among crosstown clubs. At stake was the Aikane Cup, created by the Outrigger Canoe Club for the competition.
The clubs take turns hosting the golfing event. The Ryder Cup-format includes a mix of Best Ball, Singles and Alternate Shot matches. The general managers of each club go head-to-head in a match which doesn’t affect the point total.
The event was not held in 2011.
