Much has been written in newspapers around the world about the Outrigger Canoe Club since its founding in 1908. The Outrigger Historical Committee is in the process of gathering these articles and saving them to this site. If you want a look back at the Club’s history these articles will provide you with a better understanding of how groundbreaking the Club was in its efforts to revitalize the Hawaiian sports. Starting with two grass huts on the beach along a drainage canal, the Club has grown into an international ocean sports club with Olympic Gold medalists, national and international champions, and a place where the “Sports of Old Hawaii” shall always have a home.
The site is updated continually, so check back often to catch up on your OCC history.
