Castle Swim Perpetual Trophy

Castle Swim web2

This beautiful  monkeypod plaque holds the names of the winners of the annual Castle Swim, a 1.2-mile open ocean  swim from the site of the original Outrigger Canoe Club (now the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel) to the present Club at Diamond Head. The trophy is 18″ high and 12″ high.

The Castle Swim is the longest running sporting event in the Club’s history, starting in 1917 as part of the Thanksgiving aquatic carnival.  The Swim has been held on and off since its inception.  It was revived in 1975 and has been held every year since.  The trophy was created to list the winners.

The trophy was revised in 2015 to show the names of both the winning male and female in the swim.
